Style is the man himself—Buffon

Style is the man,  said Buffon. We must only make one small amendment to Buffon's pithy saying: style is the man himself, the woman herself, the anything and the everything itself. You may have heard once upon a time a certain pernicious myth that style is separate from substance. Please, do yourself a favor and discard that myth, if you haven't already. And if you are obdurate, and refuse to do so, that's ok because you have found this website. Please begin by taking a look at the Introduction, where you'll learn about the inspiration for this project, and then work your way over to the Style Gallery, where you can browse a small selection of styles at your leisure. Don't worry, none of the works on display are for sale, and even if they were you'd be a fool to buy them. Style is free for all to observe and use on their own terms. If you're interested in how these pieces were composed, make sure to check out the Analyses section for an in-depth look at each the inner-workings of each piece in the gallery. When you're done browsing, please take a look at the About the Author section to find out more about the stylist, the man himself. And thanks for checking out my Studio Gallery. Hope to see you again soon.
